Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Contractor Management Superintendent to join our Health and Safety team. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing contract management processes and ensuring compliance with site Safety and Health Management System to enhance the efficiency of our mining operations.


Key Responsibilities:
 

Contract Management:

  • Support contract owners through scoping, selection and on-boarding of contractors
  • Work with contract owners and contractors to developed Safety and Health Management Plans
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with contract owners and contractors to ensure ongoing compliance with Safety and Health Management Plans.
  • Facilitate in field verification audits of contract partner activities.
  • Facilitate any change in contract partner work scopes, including changes to supporting documentation and processes
  • Document management and record keeping


Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with contracts and supplier agreements.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations and liabilities are clearly understood and adhered to.


Vendor and Supplier Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure service delivery meets business needs.
  • Monitor contractor performance and address non-compliance issues


Budget and Cost Control:

  • Develop and manage budgets related to contracted services.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high service standards.


Process Improvement:

  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline contract management processes and improve efficiency.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and legislative changes to ensure compliance and innovation.



Qualifications and Experience:
 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Law, or Safety related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management, or a similar role within the mining or resources sector.
    • Proven track record in managing large and complex contracts.
    • Deep understanding of Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and requirements for contractors.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Commitment to safety and operational excellence.
