We are seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy Mobile Equipment Diesel Fitter to join our maintenance team at Blackwater Mine. This role involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy mining equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines and electrical systems for heavy mining equipment.
- Work with equipment including, but not limited to, dump trucks, dozers, loaders, excavators, graders and other large-scale machinery.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operational teams to optimize equipment availability and reliability.
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Troubleshoot and rectify mechanical and electrical faults, utilising technical knowledge and diagnostic tools.
- Uphold Whitehaven Coal's commitment to safety, following all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Document maintenance activities, including parts usage and work completed, in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade qualifications as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Diesel Fitter.
- Minimum of 5 years’, minimum 3 years post trade Working with heavy mobile earthmoving equipment.
- Understanding of mining equipment maintenance standards and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow the OEM’s installation and specification guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, showing adaptability and a collaborative mindset.
