Processing Engineer | CHPP || Whitehaven Coal – Blackwater Mine

We’re looking for an experienced Processing Engineer to play a key role in driving performance, optimisation, and innovation at our Blackwater Mine Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP). You’ll be at the heart of the operation, ensuring production targets are met efficiently, safely, and sustainably while leading continuous improvement initiatives across a high-performance team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead process optimisation initiatives to maximise plant output, recovery, and reliability.
• Analyse CHPP performance data to identify improvement opportunities and implement practical solutions.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and production teams to enhance plant performance and safety.
• Contribute to long-term planning and operational excellence across our growing portfolio of assets.
• Use your well-developed communication skills to lift capability across the site.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Metallurgical Engineering (or related field).
• 5+ years’ experience in CHPP or mineral processing operations (coal highly regarded).
• Demonstrated ability to optimise processes and deliver measurable results.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capability.
• A passion for innovation, safety, and teamwork.
