About The Role:
Reporting to the Queensland Regional General Manager, you will drive performance through your demonstrated leadership ensuring safety, production, financial, and people activities on site aligned to budget and strategic plan. As an established, large scale complex mining operation, you will leverage your extensive experience to manage a range of stakeholders whilst balancing commercial management of the mine plan ensuring production and mine cost is managed to budget within environmental constraints. Your leadership will foster team collaboration, performance, maintain exceptional safety standards, and support the successful execution of mine plans, budgets, forecasts and capital projects.
What You'll Do:
- Provide strategic leadership across all functions on site, fostering a positive and collaborative culture to achieve budget
- Manage, execute and lead mine development and production operations to production efficiency and resources to achieve production and quality targets safely
- Lead and support a safety-first culture as an integral part of ‘the way we work’
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of mining operations supervisory staff.
- Navigate a complex industrial relations landscape, provide visible leadership during enterprise bargaining and lead workforce changes through stakeholder engagement ensuring operational, commercial and people outcomes
What You'll Bring:
- Ideally, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications together with extensive experience in open cut coal mine operations
- Proven leadership experience in a similar role, ideally within large, complex and established mine operations
- A solid understanding of safety and a commitment to implementing a safety culture across the site
- Demonstrated ability to lead within a complex industrial relations environment, balancing operational, commercial and people outcomes while fostering constructive workforce and union relationships
