Manager Environment & Rehabilitation – Blackwater Mine

Your Opportunity to enter a pivotal leadership role with Whitehaven Coal and shape the environmental and rehabilitation future of our Blackwater Mine.
This is an opportunity to make an impact and lead best-practice environmental outcomes, influence planning, and work alongside a committed and high-performing site leadership team.

 

What you’ll do
 

  • Lead site environmental and rehabilitation strategies and deliver safe, compliant, and sustainable outcomes
  • Advise the Leadership Team on environmental risk, performance, and improvement opportunities
  • Own environmental approvals, licensing, and statutory reporting
  • Drive rehabilitation planning and execution
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled environment and rehabilitation team

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental science or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in environmental leadership within mining or heavy industry
  • Strong working knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation and compliance frameworks
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence and engage others
  • Hands-on experience in rehabilitation, land management, and mine closure planning
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
