Your leadership, passion and experience in the areas of resource definition, mine design, scheduling, and operational support will see you well placed for the role of Manager, Technical Services at one of Australia's largest open cut coal mines

About the Role: 

As the Technical Services Manager, you will lead a large team (50+) responsible for Exploration, Geology, Geotech, Coal Quality, Mining Engineering and Survey to support optimal mine performance, the implementation of innovative solutions, and safe operational outcomes

Key Responsibilities include: 

• Overseeing all aspects of mine design and planning
• Collaborating with corporate and operational teams to achieve operational goals and optimize productivity 
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. 
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, cost effectiveness and productivity. 

What We’re Looking For: 

• 10+yrs experience in mining operations including at least 3-5 yrs at leadership level within technical services. 
• Strong people and team management skills. 
• Extensive knowledge of open cut mining, mining systems and equipment including Draglines, Electrical Shovels and Excavator operations. 
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities. 
• Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology or related field
• Experience in the development of long-term strategic, life of mine and medium to short term planning
• Proven track record of managing large-scale mining projects.
• Strong understanding of contractor management and performance monitoring.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of mine cost drivers
