About the Role
Whitehaven Coal are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mine Scheduling Engineer working on site at our Blackwater Mine in the Bowen Basin.
Reporting to the Superintendent – Mine Scheduling, the role will work with a team of Engineers to produce optimised designs and schedules that will enable operations to deliver superior performance.
What You’ll Do
- Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders and customers to ensure plan compliance and examine opportunities of continuous improvement;
- Participate in site safety routines and demonstrate a proactive safety culture;
- Produce and maintain a set of accurate mining reserves to support the development of the mine plan;
- Support the scheduling team to produce a mine plan from week +1 to 18 months that maximises value
- Identify and manage equipment interactions and plan enabling activities into an integrated mine plan;
- Monitor spatial compliance to dragline designs and provide feedback to the operational teams;
- Prepare strip reconciliations and share learnings with stakeholders to continually improve the mine plan;
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary education in mining engineering or equivalent.
- Experience working as a mining engineer
- Strong working knowledge of Spry, Deswik, 3D Dig (preferred but not essential)
- Exceptional communication skills
- High levels of organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
