The CHPP (Coal Handling and Preparation Plant) Washplant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the washplant to ensure optimal coal production and quality standards. This role involves monitoring, operating, and maintaining plant equipment while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations:

  • Operate and monitor CHPP washplant equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, and stockpiles.

  • Ensure coal quality meets customer specifications by adjusting operational parameters as required.

  • Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues and report any operational irregularities.

  • Adhere to and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Participate in safety toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

  • Ensure plant equipment is operated safely and efficiently.

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to address equipment breakdowns and scheduled maintenance.

  • Maintain accurate records of operational performance, downtime, and maintenance activities.

  • Complete shift handover reports and communicate effectively with incoming shifts.

  • Work closely with the CHPP Supervisor and other team members to optimize plant efficiency.

  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure seamless coal movement and deliver

 

Qualifications and Experience
 

  • Previous experience in a CHPP or similar role within the mining industry.

  • Competency in operating and troubleshooting washplant equipment.

  • Strong understanding of safety and environmental standards.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
