Support the Risk function across Whitehaven's Blackwater Mine site and ensure the high standard of HSE are maintained and promoted while you support HSE performance and risk governance through engagement and planning.   

 

What you will do 
 

  • ensure the WHC Risk Framework supports the growing organisation and seek to develop the organisations maturity in risk management and decision making
  • lead the maintenance and improvement of the company approach to HSE, operational and business risk management
  • develop the capability approach to risk management across the company and the coaching of risk and control owners in HSE risk verification and assessment
  • directly support improved HSE performance and risk governance through engagement in the planning cycle
  • undertake corporate risk reporting & analytics

 

What you will need 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Risk, Engineering, Science, Environmental Science, Applied Science or other suitable qualification (preferred)

  • Experience in roles and heavy industry / mining is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Actively contribute to, assist and share knowledge and information with your team aimed at improving safety, work processes, cost and teamwork.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and increase value through the use of data analysis and risk
  • Support operations in the identification of areas where risk management supports value
