About the Role
This is a senior leadership position responsible for the operational oversight of the ‘Largest Dragline fleet in the Southern Hemisphere’. You will be instrumental in driving safe, efficient, and cost-effective overburden removal and coal exposure, directly contributing to the mine's overall production success.
What You'll Do
- Operational Management: Direct daily dragline operations, ensuring optimal digging sequences and strip mine methodologies to achieve ambitious overburden mining targets (BCM), maximise coal exposure and minimal coal loss.
- Safety & Compliance: Champion a zero harm culture. Ensure rigorous adherence to all Queensland mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental authority requirements within a demanding 24/7 operating environment.
- Fleet Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a large team of dragline operators across multiple pits.
- Planning & Collaboration: Partner with Technical Services and Mine Planning teams to ensure pit advancement aligns with the long-term mine plan, focusing on efficient multi-seam coal extraction.
- Budget Control: Manage and control high-value operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource utilisation.
What You'll Bring
- Experience & Leadership: Extensive, proven experience in a Senior Supervisory or Superintendent role, specifically managing large dragline fleets in a complex open-cut coal environment.
- Technical Acumen: Deep technical understanding of dragline operations
- Qualifications: Relevant mining qualifications and experience.
- Mining Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to read, execute, and optimise complex dragline operating plans and strip mining techniques.
- Communication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with operations, maintenance, technical teams, and senior site leadership.
