Whitehaven Coal invites you to step into an exciting leadership role at our Blackwater Mine. We’re searching for a dedicated Field Maintenance Superintendent to drive reliability, efficiency, and innovation in our operations.
In this role you will be looking after Whitehaven’s fleet of Draglines (7), Electrical Rope Shovels (2) as well as a fleet of hydraulic excavators ranging from 800t to 400t capacities. You will have a work force of approximately 150 full time employees and managing a range of contractors to support your outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Supervise and manage the field maintenance team to achieve operational excellence.
- Delivery of weekly asset management plan To achieve Maintenance and Production targets.
- Planning & Coordination: Oversee the maintenance of heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Safety First: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture aligned with Whitehaven Coal’s values.
- Problem Solving: Lead technical troubleshooting, identify solutions, and implement best practices.
- Communication: Work closely with operations and engineering teams to optimize productivity.
- Building capability within the team through development of Supervisors and Employees
About You:
- Motivated, engaged and supportive people leader.
- Proven experience in a field maintenance leadership role, preferably in the mining industry sector to lead high performance outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and asset management.
- A proactive mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Budget management skills - Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications are highly regarded.
