About the Role

Whitehaven Coal is seeking an experienced and motivated Superintendent – Warehouse to join our team at the Blackwater Mine.

This is a key leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of warehousing across site. You will play a critical role in ensuring materials availability, inventory accuracy, and supply chain reliability to support our mining operations.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will lead warehouse team while driving continuous improvement and ensuring strong governance across all materials management processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop warehouse team to deliver safe, efficient operations
  • Oversee inventory management including stock accuracy, cycle counts, and reconciliations
  • Ensure timely availability of materials to support maintenance and operational requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing and inventory optimisation
  • Ensure compliance with safety, site standards, and statutory requirements
  • Provide reporting and insights on inventory performance, stock holdings, and cost optimisation

 

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in warehouse or supply chain operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role
  • Demonstrated experience managing warehousing teams in mining, heavy industry, or a similar regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse safety, inventory management, and materials handling procedures
  • Proficiency in inventory and materials systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Formal qualifications in Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or warehouse optimisation methodologies
