About the Role – Superintendent Mine Survey, Blackwater Mine
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Superintendent Mine Survey leads a team of 6 and is accountable for providing survey control for mining operations, performing statutory survey requirements, geospatial technology used on-site and production accounting routines.
This role is based at our Blackwater Site, as a 9-day fortnight, and is available for local, DIDO or FIFO applicants
To be successful in the role you will:
- Foster team culture and integration with the wider technical services team
- Develop a department vision including system and process standardisation, a technical roadmap, budget and skills development
- Accountable for geospatial technology used on-site, liaising with operational technology teams
- Lead problem solving and improvement projects relating to survey, production accounting and coal reconciliation
- Provide on-the-tools surveyor coverage during team-member leave and training of graduates
- Provide Statutory requirements for Blackwater Mine & survey control for all aspects of mining
- Support the end of month survey reconciliation process.
- Ensure timely and accurate survey information is provided to support the development of mine plans.
About You
- Minimum five years of experience in open cut mining coal mining
- Currently hold or be working towards QLD registered surveyor ticket
- Hold a current RPAS licence
- Candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholder groups (e.g. coordinators, superintendents, technical specialists and managers)
- Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues.
- Knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999, Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation 2017 & RS10 - Mine surveying and drafting
- Experience using Maptek Vulcan and PointStudio, ArcGIS, and Agisoft Metashape software, Maptek laser scanners and Trimble survey equipment.
