Supervisor Maintenance Execution

The Supervisor – Field Maintenance (Elect) at Blackwater Mine is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance execution team to ensure the reliability and availability of mine equipment. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and adherence to best practices in maintenance. The Supervisor will lead, mentor, and support a team of technicians and tradespeople, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of maintenance professionals, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently, in line with Whitehaven Coal’s safety standards.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with the planning and operations teams to align maintenance schedules with production goals.
- Monitor and report on equipment performance, utilising data to drive improvements and prevent recurring issues.
- Implement and champion Whitehaven’s STRIVE values, promoting teamwork, respect, and responsibility.
- Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, fostering open communication and team engagement.
- Ensure that all team members are trained and competent in their roles, and encourage professional development.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant trade qualification or degree in Electrical
- Proven supervisory experience in a maintenance role within the mining or heavy industry sector focusing on Rope machines and Hydraulic Diggers
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, with a focus on hazard identification and risk management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management systems (such as SAP, Pronto, or similar).
