Our Blackwater Mine is a large-scale open-cut operation in the heart of Queensland's Bowen Basin, and we are looking for an experienced Technician Field Maintenance – Boilermaker to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a hands-on field maintenance environment, supporting the reliability and availability of our mining fleet while building a rewarding career with a company focused on safety, people and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

As a Technician Field Maintenance – Boilermaker, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing heavy mining equipment and associated infrastructure in the field.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance safely and efficiently in a field environment
• Performing welding, fabrication and structural repairs on heavy mobile mining equipment
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out timely repairs to minimise downtime
• Conducting inspections and identifying potential maintenance and reliability issues
• Diagnosing faults and identifying practical and effective repair solutions
• Working closely with Field Maintenance Supervisors, Operators and other Maintenance personnel
• Supporting equipment availability and reliability through high-quality maintenance practices
• Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with site procedures and safety standards

What You'll Bring

• Australian recognised Trade Qualification as a Boilermaker
• Previous experience in field maintenance within mining, heavy industry or a similar environment
• Experience working on heavy mobile mining equipment
• Strong welding, fabrication and structural repair skills
• Experience responding to and repairing equipment breakdowns
• A demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• A positive attitude and commitment to Whitehaven's STRIVE Values – Safety, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Value and Excellence
