Technician Laboratory

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician CHPP to join our team at Blackwater Mine. This role position is critical to ensuring the quality of our products and the efficient operation of our Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine and non-routine coal sampling and laboratory analyses, including moisture - both total and inherent, ash, volatile matter, Ash – both rapid and approx., Volatile matter, Fluidity, Phosphorus – both fuse bead and pellet, CSN, Sulphur and Magnetite recovery
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Record, analyse, and report data to support operational decision-making and product quality assurance.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO 17025) and maintain accurate documentation.
• Monitor and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and consistent results.
   

Skills & Qualifications

• Certificate III or higher in Laboratory Techniques or Process Plant Operations (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in coal quality testing and/or CHPP operations in the mining sector.
• Strong understanding of laboratory equipment, CHPP processes, and operational safety standards.
• Proficiency with data analysis software and laboratory management systems.
• Commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
