About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mining Engineer to join our Brisbane-based Mine Planning team. Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning you’ll play a key part in driving continuous improvement across mine and dump designs and scheduling processes for Blackwater Mine.

 

You'll provide strategic technical guidance to short-term mine planning teams, operational personnel, and other stakeholders, contributing to efficient and effective mining execution. This corporate role is based in Brisbane and offers some flexibility, with occasional travel to site as required.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain mine and dump designs aligned with the annual Budget and 5-Year Plan.
  • Identify and implement optimal mining methods tailored to each mining area.
  • Own and manage Pit Strategy documentation.
  • Contribute to design and reserving processes in line with internal standards.
  • Support projects through technical input, due diligence, risk and opportunity assessments, and integration planning to life of mine plan.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mining engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven on-site experience in dragline design and planning, with a focus on delivering Budget and 5-Year Plans.
  • A strong background in open-cut, strip mining operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software, particularly Deswik and Spry.
