IT Specialist Operational Technology Systems

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide expertise and support for hosting infrastructure, virtual servers, workstations, laptops, patching, firewalls, Active Directory and group policy management across Whitehaven Coal's Operational Technology (OT) landscape.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Implement systems engineering practices and processes
• Improve system reliability and performance
• Management of OT servers, workstations and laptops
• Ensure systems are secure, updated, and optimally configured for operational needs.
• Prepare submissions and manage OT infrastructure within budget constraints.
• Ensure system integrity
• Implement and maintain cyber security protocols across all OT systems
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and act upon them where required.

Qualifications & Experience
 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant industry experience.
• Strong experience with server management, hosting infrastructure, and network solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory management (users, computers, group policy), patch management, and firewalls.
• Experience with cyber security protocols and practices in OT or IT environments.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting OT laptops, workstations, and servers.
