Due to internal restructure we are seeking a Maintenance Planner to be site based at Blackwater Mine to join our Maintenance Planning Team. We are offering an opportunity for a person with a background in all areas of Mine Site Maintenance Planning collectively referred to here as Maintenance Planner.
A Maintenance Planner at Blackwater Mine is responsible for developing and coordinating preventive maintenance plans to ensure the reliability and safety of all mining equipment and facilities. This role is essential in maximizing asset uptime and supporting smooth, uninterrupted mining operations by managing the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.
What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability & Planning your role will consist of:
- Verify and optimise strategies using Asset Health inputs
- Review all Work Orders on a routine basis to ensure correct sequencing within plans
- Review all work when planning an outage and sequences relevant Work Orders into the outage
- Deliver sequenced work packages for complex maintenance activities to scheduler
- Plan work in accordance with the SAP Work Management process, accurately identifying the required components and resources prior to scheduling
- Plan and sequence packages of work
- Arrange specialist resources (where required) to support the completion of complex work
- Liaise closely with Supply to ensure parts and materials are delivered on time
- Create and modify Master Data when required
- Provide technical and system support to develop the broader team
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce all safety protocols, supporting Whitehaven Coal’s commitment to a safe and secure work environment.
What You’ll Bring:
- Trade qualification, Engineering degree or appropriate time in role
Equipment knowledge (area specific) - Technical understanding of Condition Monitoring and Asset Health Principles
- Proven experience in site planning, or asset and infrastructure management within the mining or heavy industry sector
- Ideally experience with SAP
- High degree of demonstrated engagement with key stakeholders and end users
- Awareness of Cost Management and Forecasting Processes.
- Ability to multi-task
- Self-motivation for improvement in process and systems
