About The Role:

As the Manager – Asset Engineering, you will lead the teams responsible for fleet strategy, asset engineering, and Asset Management systems. In this role, you will shape and optimise the lifecycle of our mobile mining fleet and drive the continuous improvement initiatives that maximise asset value.

 

Working closely with site-based maintenance and engineering teams, you will build and standardise company-wide asset management systems, policies and processes, strengthen operational discipline, and foster strong partnerships that lift asset performance and reduce total cost of ownership. Reporting to the General Manager, Asset Management & Technology you will be central to advancing asset management capability and maturity across the business.

 

This position is based centrally in Brisbane with site travel required.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the Asset Engineering team to develop, maintain and govern equipment asset management strategies and plans to optimize the lifecycle of mobile mining equipment.
  • Govern compliance frameworks to ensure all engineering and asset management activities meet stringent health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive cost benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) and maximise Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Build and standardise a company-wide asset management system, policies, and processes that elevate maturity and align with industry best practice.
  • Foster strong, value-adding relationships with site maintenance and engineering teams to enhance asset performance and support improvement initiatives.
  • Champion change leadership, operating discipline, and a culture of continuous improvement to deliver safe, reliable and risk-mitigated operational outcomes.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • A degree-qualified engineer (Mech, Elec, Mining or similar) with 7+ years’ site-based maintenance or engineering experience with at least 3+ years in leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of coal industry regulations, safety and environmental standards, and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Deep expertise in asset management, reliability engineering, equipment standards, budgeting (including ZBB), and life cycle costing.
  • Proficiency with SAP and CMMS systems supported by advanced capability in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to diagnose complex issues and develop innovative, practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation.
