About the Role:
Whitehaven’s Improvement & Analytics team, part of our Remote Operating Centre (ROC) in Brisbane, have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist - Analytics to help shape the future of our operations.
Reporting into the Superintendent - Improvement & Analytics you will enable our operating assets to make informed, data-driven decisions through regular collaboration, maintaining the integrity of production data, and documenting and optimising processes.
This role will place you at the forefront of innovation in mining where you will directly impact the way our assets operate now and in the future. You will have the opportunity to grow your skills, tackle exciting challenges, and be part of a forward-thinking team that’s all about innovation and improvement.
Please note, this position is a 14-month Max Term Contract.
What you will do:
- Perform daily volume reconciliations, validate data quality, and troubleshoot discrepancies to maintain reliable reporting for stakeholders.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for data workflows, ensuring consistency and efficiency within the Improvement & Analytics team.
- Act as a key liaison between on-site operations and the Improvement & Analytics team, providing insights and resolving data related queries to drive informed decision making.
What you will bring:
- An intermediate understanding of key mining processes and value chain.
- Experience with fleet management and production accounting systems. (Exposure to Corvus would be highly regarded)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. (Proficiency with SQL, Power BI and AI would be highly regarded)
- Proven experience with data reconciliation and proficiency with reporting and document management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication to effectively collaborate with on-site and off-site personnel.
