About The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Supervisor - ROC Control to join our Remote Operations Centre (ROC) team. This is an opportunity to be part of a high-performing team that has successfully delivered remote operations for Whitehaven’s Blackwater and Daunia mines in Queensland.
In this role, you will lead the ROC team across mine control, plant control, and critical system monitoring, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will play a key role in connecting strategy with execution, working closely with site-based Mining, Processing, Logistics, Maintenance, and Technical teams to drive alignment and operational excellence.
As Supervisor - ROC Control, you will be accountable for the day-to-day coordination and performance of the ROC crew. This includes shift planning, task allocation, monitoring production performance, and proactively driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, reliability, and productivity.

What You'll Do:
- Oversee mining fleet management and processing control systems, quickly resolving production and safety issues to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
- Monitor production performance and trends, identify risks early, and take practical, data-driven action to minimise downtime, waste, and delays.
- Own delay capture and production accounting, ensuring accurate, reliable data to support strong operational decisions.
- Apply a structured, risk-based approach to problem solving, embedding a proactive safety culture aligned with Whitehaven’s risk management framework.
- Drive continuous improvement by supporting system optimisation, implementing smarter ways of working, and contributing to Remote Operations Centre budget planning.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven leadership experience in a similar role, ideally within a mining production, CHPP, or mineral processing environment.
- Relevant qualifications including RIIRIS301 / RIIWHS301 / RIICOM301 (formerly S1, S2, S3) and RIIRIS402 (formerly G2).
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for technology, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to thrive in high pressure environments, effectively managing competing priorities while engaging multiple stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and developing teams, including implementing strategies that foster a positive and high performance culture.
