Daunia mine is a high performing operation in Queensland's Bowen Basin, producing premium metallurgical coal for global export since 2013. About The Role:

Reporting to the Manager – People and Culture, you'll partner closely with site leaders to deliver practical people solutions that support Daunia’s success. Working as part of a collaborative People and Culture team, you'll provide trusted advice across employee relations, leadership coaching, workforce initiatives and organisational change. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Business Partner or an emerging HR professional ready to step into a broader role and make a genuine impact on both people and commercial outcomes.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with leaders to deliver practical, commercially focused people solutions across the operation.
  • Provide trusted advice on employee relations, industrial relations, performance and workplace matters.
  • Coach and support leaders, and contribute to investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes when required.
  • Lead People & Culture projects, including audits, compliance initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Drive employee engagement, organisational change and workforce initiatives while ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a Business Partner, Advisor or Officer role, ideally within mining or a similar environment.
  • A sound understanding of employee and industrial relations, with the ability to provide practical support and advice to leaders.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills, with a collaborative approach to coaching and supporting leaders and employees.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with a willingness to work on site. Candidates based in, or open to relocating to Central or North Queensland will be highly regarded.
