About The Role:
This is a plant-based leadership role focused on optimising CHPP performance to maximise yield, throughput, and product quality. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, utilise metallurgical accounting, and apply data-driven insights to identify and resolve processing challenges.
Working closely with operations, maintenance, and technical teams, you will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient CHPP operations, including oversight of site laboratory services and radiation compliance. You will also mentor site engineers and operators, driving best practice and building capability across the plant to deliver consistent, high-quality coal production.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the optimisation of CHPP circuit performance to maximise recovery, throughput, and product quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data analysis and metallurgical accounting to deliver measurable performance gains.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards, including site radiation requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to enhance plant performance and reliability.
- Mentor and support engineers and process personnel while overseeing contract laboratory services and best practice procedures.
What You'll Bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Chemical or Process Engineering, with experience in senior roles within the mining or minerals processing industry.
- Strong leadership and supervisory capability, with a track record of building engaged, accountable teams.
- Experience in coal processing (highly regarded), with exposure to laboratory operations and contractor management.
- Solid technical capability, including process analysis and ideally process modelling experience.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven commitment to safety, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
