About The Role:
We are seeking a Senior – Mine Scheduling to join the Technical Services team at Daunia. This role is well suited to candidates with significant Drill & Blast experience who are ready to take ownership of complex technical challenges in an open-cut coal environment. Working within a technologically advanced operation, including an autonomous haulage system, you will play a key role in designing and delivering drill and blast outcomes that support safe, efficient and value-driven mining. Partnering closely with operational and technical teams, you will drive productivity and cost performance while contributing to continuous improvement across site.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the design and delivery of drill and blast plans that safely achieve production targets and maximise operational value.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure drill and blast activities align with mine plans and business objectives.
- Monitor blast performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise drill and blast schedules and resolve operational constraints.
- Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, site standards and safety systems while supporting best-practice drill and blast outcomes.
What You'll Bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline,
- Experience in drill and blast, or related technical disciplines, within an open-cut mining operation.
- Proficiency in industry-standard drill and blast software including BlastIQ, BlastLogic as well as Deswik, Vulcan or SPRY.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.
- A positive, values-driven mindset, with strong communication skills, and a genuine drive for continuous improvement.
