About the Role:
Whitehaven are seeking a talented Specialist - Mine Scheduling to join the Mine Scheduling team at our Daunia Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling, you will play an integral role in all drill and blast components as well as gaining exposure to the future of open cut mining.
What You’ll Do:
- Create, optimise and communicate drill and blast concepts and designs.
- Execute weekly planning routines and schedule updates relating to drill and blast.
- Identify and implement cultural and process improvement initiatives across the operation.
- Drive our safety culture through in field leadership and engagement.
What You’ll Bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or related discipline)
- 3+ years’ experience in drill and blast and or execution
- Strong understanding and capability in common industry software applications is essential, particularly BlastLogic, Spry, Deswik and Vulcan.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to influence and communicate to a wide range of stakeholders.
- A flexible attitude and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve.
