About The Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Superintendent to join the Daunia Maintenance team and play a key role in shaping the future of the operation. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing all maintenance activities related to Mobile and Field Equipment on site.

 

Your focus will be on ensuring equipment reliability and availability, developing and executing effective maintenance strategies, and driving compliance with safety and environmental standards. You will lead a high-performing team and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.

 

This is a site-based role, working an 8 days on / 6 days off roster (Monday to Monday, day shift).

 

What You'll Do:

  • Manage maintenance operations for mobile and field equipment including scheduled shutdowns, emergency repairs, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure maximum fleet availability and reliability.
  • Oversee daily maintenance scheduling, planning, and execution while aligning with safety, environmental, and operational targets.
  • Provide strong leadership to maintenance crews, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering & Reliability, and OEMs to optimise equipment performance, lifecycle costs, and maintenance strategies.
  • Drive compliance with statutory requirements, company standards, and best-practice maintenance systems.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in a maintenance department within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
  • An inspirational leader with prior experience in a similar role, preferably in an open-cut coal mining environment.
  • Experience with CAT Ultra Class Trucks, 6040/6060 Excavators and 7495 Electric Rope Shovel plus Hitachi 3600/5600 Excavators is highly desirable.
  • A Trade qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline is essential.
  • S1, S2, S3, G2 certification.
